A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on nuclear technology applications was signed between a listed subsidiary of China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) and the Brazilian Institute of Nuclear and Energy Research last week.
The agreement, signed on November 26 during the Ministerial Conference on Technical Cooperation and Nuclear Science Application of the International Atomic Energy Agency, establishes a long-term partnership to strengthen cooperation in radiopharmaceuticals and irradiation technologies.
As a core element of CNNC’s participation in the Belt and Road Initiative, the agreement reflects China's commitment to advancing the Sino-Brazilian community with the goal of a more equitable and sustainable world. It further underscores the international recognition of China’s integrated nuclear technology solutions and its growing influence in the field.
The collaboration highlights CNNC’s achievements in building modern nuclear technology industrial chains and its dedication to global corporate social responsibility.
Nuclear technology is widely regarded as a cutting-edge field, characterized by high technology, efficiency and quality. Its applications span many aspects of the modern economy and society, including industry, agriculture, healthcare, environmental protection and security. As of last year, China's nuclear technology applications industry had generated a financial output of approximately 240 billion yuan ($33.01 billion).
In recent decades, CNNC has cultivated deep expertise in nuclear medicine and irradiation applications. The company provides integrated solutions encompassing isotope research, production and sales, pharmaceutical development, specialized medical services, equipment manufacturing, irradiation facility operations, and decommissioning of radioactive sources and devices.
These services cover the entire project lifecycle, offering end-to-end solutions to international partners worldwide.
