Zhang Yuzhuo, Chairman of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC), held talks with Maropene Ramokgopa, Minister in the Presidency Responsible for Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation of South Africa, in Beijing on October 28. The two sides exchanged views on further deepening bilateral exchanges and cooperation in the field of state-owned assets supervision and administration.

Zhang extended a warm welcome to Ramokgopa and said that, under the joint guidance of Chinese President Xi Jinping and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, China-South Africa relations have entered a "golden era". He added that the SASAC will firmly follow the important consensus reached between the leaders of the two countries, further deepen friendship, mutual trust and cooperation, share expertise and promote pragmatic cooperation in the field of state-owned assets supervision and administration, and help deepen the China-South Africa all-round strategic cooperative partnership in the new era.
Zhang called on the two sides to learn from each other, strengthen bilateral exchanges, and jointly explore scientific and effective supervision system, reform paths, and governance models of state-owned assets and SOEs; adhere to the principle of win-win cooperation, deepen pragmatic cooperation, work together to enlarge the market and share the opportunities; enhance multilateral coordination with openness and inclusiveness, jointly defend the interests of developing countries on the subject of SOEs, and help build an even closer China-Africa community with a shared future.
Ramokgopa spoke highly of the extraordinary achievements of the reform and development of state-owned assets and SOEs made by China. She said the two sides should take the establishment of China-South Africa all-round strategic cooperative partnership in the new era as an opportunity, to strengthen strategic alignment, closely communicate and cooperate, hold in-depth exchanges over the supervision of state-owned assets, the reform of SOEs, industrial development and sci-tech innovation, expand pragmatic cooperation in all fileds, further strengthen economic and trade exchanges, and help deepen the development of bilateral relations between China and South Africa.
Representatives of relevant bureaus of SASAC shared experiences on topics such as the supervision framework for state-owned assets and SOEs.
