Sinograin Completes Upgrades at 900 Grain Depots

Updated: October 12, 2024

China Grain Reserves Group Ltd. Company (Sinograin) has commenced its autumn grain procurement for 2024. To enhance the efficiency of grain storage and procurement, Sinograin has completed intelligent system upgrades for over 900 grain depot sites nationwide, significantly improving risk control in grain purchase and sales.

By integrating the Internet of Things, big data, smart devices, and AI algorithms, Sinograin has developed a comprehensive smart supervision system that extends from its headquarters to grain depots across the country. This system enables full-process, full-chain, and all-inclusive digital management for grain storage and procurement.

Hundreds of temperature sensors installed in grain silos provide real-time monitoring of grain conditions, with data being instantly relayed to a centralized online control platform. The system also features 360-degree monitoring and high-definition cameras, allowing staff to monitor grain warehouses remotely. Through big data analysis, the system can also provide predictive and warning capabilities regarding grain quality changes.

In this year’s procurement of rice, Sinograin’s direct subsidiaries in Hunan and other regions have actively employed the newly upgraded “Smart Grain Depot Centralized Control Platform”. This upgrade has streamlined operations—from entry registration to grain unloading and payment settlement—significantly improving the efficiency of grain storage.

Moreover, Sinograin has independently developed intelligent sampling and inspection devices capable of testing wheat, rice, corn, and soybeans, significantly shortening farmers’ waiting time to sell their grain.

Currently, Sinograin’s subsidiaries in major autumn grain-producing regions are fully prepared in terms of storage capacity, funding, personnel, and equipment to handle the incoming grain. The company is also enhancing services for farmers by offering quality pre-inspections, signing procurement intention agreements, providing guidance on scientific grain storage, and promoting grain storage policies.

Additionally, Sinograin is encouraging the use of a comprehensive service platform for grain sales, which now boasts over 800,000 registered users. By enabling farmers to schedule grain sales in advance, the platform helps reduce on-site wait times and costs.
