The Hangzhou-Wenzhou High-Speed Railway has officially begun operating with the departure of the G9505 and G9508 trains from Hangzhou West and Wenzhou North stations.
The railway, designed by China Railway Siyuan Survey and Design Group Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of China Railway Construction Corporation Limited (CRCC), was co-constructed by several CRCC subsidiaries, including the 11th, 12th, 22nd and 24th bureau groups.

The new line begins at Tonglu East Station in Hangzhou and heads south through Jinhua and southeast to Taizhou, ending at Wenzhou South Station. The 276-kilometer line, which can accommodate speeds of up to 350 km per hour, has nine stations.
Construction was divided into two phases: The first phase was the line from Yiwu to Wenzhou, while the second phase entailed building the line from Hangzhou to Yiwu. China Railway 11th Bureau Group was responsible for key construction tasks in the first phase, including 15 tunnels, 16 bridges, 14 sections of embankment, 433 kilometers of main and station tracks, the transformation of Yiwu Station, and the prefabrication and erection of 575 box girders.

China Railway 11th Bureau Group adopted an advanced intelligent cloud safety dispatch management system during the construction period, which provided real-time, remote monitoring of equipment, ensuring safety and efficiency through intelligent management, visual monitoring and automatic alerts. By using WZ500 track-laying machines alongside the self-designed BLCP500 dual-track laying machine, construction efficiency was significantly enhanced.

The new high-speed rail link connects major scenic and cultural destinations in Hangzhou, Jinhua, Taizhou and Wenzhou. It will enhance connectivity and ease of travel for residents along the line, promote tourism development and industrial growth, and contribute to high-quality development in Zhejiang’s common prosperity demonstration zone, along with the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta.
