China Launches First Ultra-Long-Distance Intelligent Scraper Conveyor

Updated: August 12, 2024

The world's first 8-megawatt ultra-long-distance intelligent scraper conveyor, designed by China Coal Zhangjiakou Coal Machinery Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of China National Coal Group Corporation, has completed trial operations.

The scraper conveyor is the largest of its kind globally, with a capacity of up to 8,000 tons per hour and a transport length of between 400 and 600 meters. It is designed to handle over 60 million tons of coal throughout its lifecycle and meets the demands of mining exceptionally thick coal seams, with an annual output capacity of 20 million tons.

All key components of the equipment are designed and developed independently by the company, ensuring full self-sufficiency, and guaranteeing improved performance and reliability, facilitating efficient coal production, rapid adjustment and reliable supply.

The successful development of the ultra-long-distance intelligent scraper conveyor marks a significant advance in China's capabilities in designing high-end and fully domesticated high-power transmission systems.

The breakthrough provides a new pathway for safe, efficient, green and intelligent coal resource extraction, and is crucial for reducing mining costs, enhancing resource extraction efficiency and boosting energy supply capabilities.
