China Eastern Air Logistics Co., Ltd. recently completed delivery of the first batch of cancer treatment drugs via cold chain logistics to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta.
The medicine, with a total weight of 450 kilograms, was transported with the help of the temperature monitoring system and logistics information system developed independently by the cold chain company of China Eastern Air Logistics. This technology ensured full-process temperature and location monitoring of the pharmaceuticals from the factory to the final destination.
Due to the high requirements on temperature control and monitoring data, the cold chain company developed a dual monitoring solution: Temperature tags on the cargo and active aviation temperature control containers. This system allows real-time tracking of temperature and location through an online platform, with automatic alerts for any deviations, thereby enhancing control over unpredictable conditions during transportation.
The active aviation temperature control container used for this shipment was domestically developed and was being used for the first time in China Eastern Air Logistics' cold chain operations. The shipment is the first export of cancer treatment drugs manufactured entirely by domestic pharmaceutical companies.
A large number of Chinese pharmaceutical companies have developed internationally competitive products and are waiting to access global markets. Leveraging its leading market share and extensive experience in handling temperature-sensitive cargo, China Eastern Airlines is advancing a "direct from origin" cold chain logistics model and optimizing temperature-controlled transportation costs, so as to help facilitate the global distribution of high-quality Chinese pharmaceuticals.
