The new generation super virtual rail train developed and manufactured by CRRC Corporation Limited (CRRC) recently made its debut in Pingtan, Southeast China's Fujian Province.
The super virtual rail train is a new generation urban public transport MRT system train built by CRRC. It adopts the virtual rail train technology based on carriage by rubber wheels, which can run flexibly on urban roads without laying tracks, giving passengers a subway-like ride experience.
With a length of 32 meters and a width of 2.65 meters, the train has a passenger capacity of nearly 300 people and reaches a maximum running speed of 77 kilometers per hour.
The train adopts high-energy lithium battery energy storage technology, with a 10-minute charge enabling a travel distance of 25 kilometers. It is equipped with optical image recognition and Beidou satellite navigation technology to ensure that it follows the pre-set virtual track line automatically.
Additionally, it is the first commercial application of an all-wheel electric drive steering system, which is more flexible, efficient and convenient compared to the traditional hydraulic system.
Super virtual rail trains can be used to supplement, encrypt and connect systems for large-capacity rail transit, as well as the main lines of rail transit passenger transport systems in small- and medium-sized cities. This type of train is also suitable for the backbone of passenger transport systems in specific areas in cities, such as railway stations, airports, and tourist attractions.
