The Liaoning Tieling off-grid energy storage and hydrogen production project in Northeast China's Liaoning province, China's largest wind power off-grid hydrogen production demonstration project built by China Huadian Corporation Ltd., started commercial operation recently.
The technology of "large-capacity wind power off-grid hydrogen production integration" developed by the project has been applied to China's first 25-megawatt off-grid wind power hydrogen production project. It includes the construction of a 25-megawatt wind turbine, a 5-megawatt-hour energy storage station and three sets of water electrolysis hydrogen production units with a single output of 1000Nm3/h.
The first concrete pouring work for the foundation construction of the project’s main plant was completed in July 2023. In November 2023, the first “green hydrogen” in Liaoning was produced during its trial production stage. On April 12, 2024, the project obtained a filling permit issued by the Liaoning Administration for Market Regulation.
The first pure green hydrogen production project in Liaoning, the Tieling off-grid energy storage and hydrogen production project, has successfully produced hydrogen and completed hydrogen filling, with the hydrogen purity reaching 99.999 percent.
