Recently, China Southern Airlines Co., Ltd held an international route product promotion meeting and said that its inaugural flight from Beijing’s Daxing district to Riyadh, capital of Saudi Arabia, was a success.
It marked the commencement of the first regular direct passenger flight service from the Chinese mainland to Saudi Arabia.
The flight was implemented by the Airbus A330-300, carrying a total of 240 passengers. The opening of the route is an important manifestation of deepening cooperation between China and Saudi Arabia in economic fields as well as culture and tourism. It will further promote people-to-people as well as economic and trade exchanges between the two countries.
China Southern Airlines has opened 14 international and regional direct routes from Beijing’s Daxing to London, Amsterdam, and other destinations. It has opened eight international routes along the Belt and Road countries, with 74 round-trip flights per week, and will soon open routes to Dhaka from Beijing’s Daxing International Airport.
The company will comprehensively carry out international cooperation, build air channels for international trade exchanges and logistics between China and foreign countries, and make greater contributions to serving the Belt and Road Initiative.
