Independently designed and built by China, the facility consists of a hull and upper functional modules, comprising nearly 500,000 components. With a maximum diameter of approximately 90 meters, the facility has a main deck covering an area equaling 13 standard basketball courts.

With a height comparable to a 30-story building, the facility weighs about 36,000 metric tons and has a designed displacement of 100,000 tons and a designed life cycle of 30 years. It can store as much as 60,000 tons of crude oil and is capable of continuously working offshore for 15 years.

The facility will be put into service in the Liuhua Oilfield in the Pearl River Mouth Basin once operational.

Compared to the traditional FPSO types, HAI YANG SHI YOU 122 is smaller in size and more compact, making it capable of efficient oil storage. Meanwhile, it has outstanding performances in resisting harsh sea conditions, and limiting steel consumption, which provides a new option for economical and efficient development of deepwater oil and gas fields in China.
