CREC Helps Zambian People Obtain Clean Drinking Water

Updated: April 02, 2024

Clean drinking water is now more accessible to the 200,000 residents in Kaoma, a Western Province of Zambia, as some of the water pipelines built by China Railway Group Limited (CREC) have been put into service.

The water pipelines are a part of the Western Province water supply project that covers the regions of Kaoma, Senanga, and Sesheke. The project includes construction of a full water supply system such as the water transmission pipelines, a water treatment plant, reservoir and well drilling project, and supporting sanitary disposal facilities.

Construction of the project will also provide jobs for 700 local residents.
