Key systems of power, fuel, flight control and avionics, as well as undercarriage and hydraulic systems, were verified during the cold-weather trial flight, affirming that the aircraft meets demands for fire control, and search and rescue missions in all regions of the country.

The flights were carried out under temperatures ranging from minus 20 degrees Celsius to minus 40 degrees Celsius, which assessed the aircrafts’ operation and maintenance procedure under low temperatures, frost and freezing conditions.

According to the Aviation Industry Corporation of China, Ltd., developer of the AG600M aircraft, the aircraft is planned to obtain a type certificate in 2024.

The aircraft is expected to contribute to China’s emergency rescue and national natural disaster prevention systems once operational.
