It has a 14-kilometer cross-sea section, the longest of its kind in China.

Upon operation, it is expected to transmit 536,000 kilowatts power annually, which will meet industrial demand in Fuqing, improve export capacity of offshore wind power in affected area and improve power supply capacity and reliability of power grid in South Fuzhou and Pingtan.

State Grid Corporation of China was responsible for the project. During construction, the water-permeable materials were used to build the facility in order to reduce impact on the marine ecological environment.

The project also included construction of a 47,000 square meters of trestle passage, which took more than 56,000 metric tons of steel, making it the offshore trestle work with the largest scale among power projects under construction in China.
