Subsidiaries of China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group (CECEP) focusing on wind power have launched measures to guarantee heating supply during the upcoming Spring Festival. It is anticipated that the company will provide 250 million kilowatt-hours of power during the vacation.
Increasing green energy supply
CECEP Wind-power Corporation Co., Ltd. (CECWPC), a subsidiary of CECEP has been in full swing in accelerating construction progress and improving quality and efficiency of power generation, aiming to increase local green power supply to support high-quality development of green economic and social development in affected areas.
For example, wind turbines at the project in Central China’s Henan Province, the company’s first major rural vitalization project through industry promotion, are being built as a circle, symbolizing “family union”.
Its project in Zhangjiakou, North China’s Hebei Province, the first technical improvement project on distribution phase modification, is expected to improve the power generation index to 75 percent of the installed capacity. It will be of great significance in supporting power consumption in Xiongan New Area, and improving the new energy export capacity of the Zhangjiakou-Xiongan ultra-high-voltage power transmission project.
Improving power generation of wind turbines
A special working system has been launched to give full play to the company’s 45 wind farms in 10 regions, which have a total capacity of more than 5.6 million kilowatts.
More than 800 workers are responsible for operation and repairing of the power generation and transmission facilities.
Additionally, a branch of CECWPC is responsible for power guarantees of the sub-venue of the Spring Festival Gala in the region.
Guaranteeing heating supply against heavy snow
The recent snow has brought great challenges to the power supply of the wind farms in the high mountains. Staff of CECEP keep an eye on weather warnings and inspect facilities covered with heavy snow against the freezing cold weather.
In addition to power guarantee in Dezhou, East China’s Shandong Province, the company’s wind power branch supported the local government to eliminate ice on the road to reduce the impact of cold weather on traffic.
CECWPC’s branches related to heating also guarantee the regular inspection of heating facilities for residents in affected areas.
