A dual-fuel liquefied natural gas (LNG) ro-ro ship named SAIC ANJI SHENCHENG has begun its maiden voyage carrying more than 5,000 commercial and engineering vehicles.

The ship was the first one of a series of clean-fuel ro-ro ships joint developed by Jiangnan Shipyard (Group) Co., Ltd., and China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd, both subsidiaries of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited (CSSC) in Shanghai, being made for SAIC Motor Corporation Limited (SAIC). CSSC owns the complete proprietary intellectual property rights of the ships.
The SAIC ANJI SHENCHENG is 199.9 meters long, and has a molded breadth of 38 meters, a molded depth of 15.5 meters,a scantling draft of 10.2 meters and a navigation speed of 19 knots.
A new-generation super Panamax car carrier meeting the latest international emission standards, the ship is capable of carrying as many as 7,600 vehicles.
It has been registered in the China Classification Society (CCS) and the Det Norske Veritas (DNV).
The ship adopts the WinGD X-DF main engine and the iCER system, as well as LNG protection and ro-ro device systems, all of which were developed by CSSC. The company also owns the complete proprietary intellectual property rights of auxiliary systems related to gas supply, control, security, nitrogen and air control, combustible gas detection and LNG heating.
It's worth noting that the ship scores well in clean emissions, fuel consumption, flexible operation, easy maintenance and strong profitability.
