The second phase of the Huaxin cement plant in Tanzania, contracted by China Railway Construction Engineering Group, a subsidiary of China Railway Group Limited (CREC), recently started operation.
The project includes a new-type dry method cement clinker production line with a daily output of 4,000 metric tons and a 15-megawatt biomass power plant. Its construction started on Aug 31, 2022.

Once operational, the plant is expected to relieve local cement shortages and provide more than 1,000 jobs for local people.
The cement produced by the plant will also be exported to neighboring countries, gaining income for Tanzania, supporting the country’s economic growth and improving its infrastructure construction.
