The Dongfang Hydrogen Industrial Park in Southwest China's Sichuan Province, the first of its kind in China to be developed through cooperation by China and Europe, opened on Dec 27, 2023.
Mainly invested by Dongfang Electric Corporation (DEC), the park focuses on building the ecological circle and innovative ecological chain of the hydrogen industry and forming an enterprise cluster based on fuel battery and production, storage, refueling and comprehensive utilization of hydrogen.
The company aims to build the park into an advanced hydrogen equipment manufacturing industrial park in West China.

The park is designed with the following five centers: core technology development, high-end equipment manufacturing, material inspection and examination, multiple scenario application and multi-functional digital operation and maintenance of hydrogen energy, and is expected to push forward in-depth and all-round integration of production, study, research and application of hydrogen, and make conceptual breakthroughs as well as advances in the industry's modes and technology.
At the launch ceremony of the industrial park, some companies inked settlement and strategic cooperation agreements with the park, aiming to work together to promote development of the hydrogen industrial cluster.
DEC also released its latest power distributing vehicle equipped with a fuel battery. It has China's highest output power and largest hydrogen storage capacity, a 200-kilowat fuel cell stack with high reliability and a long-life span, and a high-performance T30 membrane electrode. These improvements in vehicle construction show China's advanced achievement in the hydrogen field.
