Invested and built by China Communications Construction Company Limited (CCCC), the TSHD is also China's first of its kind to be equipped with a dual-fuel power system, which means the dredger can be powered by both liquefied natural gas and diesel.

It is also equipped with the most advanced and smartest dredging and dredging-navigation systems, realizing one-man operation and dredging for the first time in the country.

The TSHD is mainly used in dredging and maintenance of shipping lanes and in reclamation.

The 155.7-meter long, 32-meter-wide Xin Hai Xun TSHD has a designed maximum hold capacity of 17,000 cubic meters, the largest of its kind in the world.

The dredger is scheduled to be delivered in September 2024 and is expected to be used in projects related to dredging and reclamation of ports and deepsea shipping lanes and coastal line maintenance, supporting green and clean shipping development in China.
