The world's first 16-megawatt ultra-large capacity offshore wind turbine at the Pingtan Offshore Wind Farm of China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG) realized 24-hour full-power operation, reaching daily power output of 387,200 kilowatt-hours on Dec 21, 2023, and setting a world record for unit power generators of its kind.
The power is enough for daily domestic demands of nearly 170,000 people.

Independently developed, designed and built by China, the wind turbine with the largest unit capacity and largest diameter blade was completely hoisted on June 28 this year and was put into operation on July 19.
It can generate more than 66 million kWh of clean power, meeting annual domestic demand of 36,000 households, and requires only three operators.
The output equals that produced by burning about 22,000 metric tons of standard coal and eliminates about 54,000 tons of carbon dioxide in production.
