As of Dec 19, 2023, China Southern Power Grid (CSG) had supplied more than 70 billion kilowatt-hours of power to Macao Special Administrative Region.
CSG has supplied power to the region for 39 years, since 1984.

In recent years, CSG's capacity to supply power to Macao improved by 30 percent, reaching 1.7 million kilowatts. The power transmission volume to the region this year has exceeded 5.18 billion kWh, with a peak load of 989,000 kWh.
CSG has completed construction of three 220-kilovolt power transmission lines to send power to Macao from South, North and Central areas.
The company also formed a special power supply grid network to improve power supply capacity and disaster prevention and control while supporting power demands of the region's economic and social development during China's 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period.

What's more, construction of a digital power grid for supplying power to Macao has also made progress.
Core transmission operations such as full automation and smart security control of transmission equipment inspection, and a smart emergency auxiliary decision-making system, have been realized based on an online system that monitors power supply lines.
In terms of substation maintenance, CSG has completed smart transformation of five 220-kV substations, realizing smart unmanned inspection and one-stop programmed operation of their primary and secondary equipment and auxiliary facilities and improving smart inspection efficiency by 47 percent.
CSG established cooperation with Companhia de Electricidade de Macau - CEM, S.A. (CEM) in joint network work between South China’s Guangdong and Macao as well as emergency repairing and operation of the network.
At the 11th Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau Power Industry Summit held this June, CSG, CLP Holdings, CEM and China General Nuclear Power Corporation signed an agreement on coordination in responding to power emergencies, which intends to improve joint response to power emergencies in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, raise emergency prevention and response capacity and provide reliable power supply to high-quality economic and social development of the region.
