CSG Operates Its 1st Fully-Prefabricated Near-Zero-Carbon Landscape Distribution Station in S China

Updated: December 22, 2023

China Southern Power Grid (CSG)'s first fully-prefabricated near-zero-carbon landscape distribution station has been put into operation in Shenzhen, South China's Guangdong Province.

As it looks like a magic cube, people call it the "Power Cube".

Its prefabricated cabin, standard equipment, zero-carbon devices and smart sensors were produced and assembled in the factory, making it a station to be "purchased as a whole product" instead of "built".

Compared with traditional power stations, the construction period of the "Power Cube" was shortened by 86 percent and problems related to dust, noise and land occupation were also avoided.

What's more, the appearance of the facility can be changed according to the surrounding environment to fit the natural landscape.

According to testing, during construction emissions of carbon dioxide were 93 percent lower than those of stations built in traditional ways and it is estimated that net emission of carbon dioxide will be -0.98 tons annually, primarily realized by low-carbon construction and zero-carbon operation.

CSG will make efforts to deploy such landscape distribution power stations in more areas to improve urban space quality, raise people's sense of happiness and gain and contribute to building beautiful cities with smart power infrastructure and a sense of design.
