CSG Supplies Over 70 Billion Kwh of Power to Macao

Updated: November 29, 2023

China Southern Power Grid (CSG) has supplied more than 70 billion kilowatt-hours of power to Macao Special Administrative Region, according to the company on Nov 20.

CSG has supplied power to the region for 39 years. In recent years, CSG has improved power supply capacity to Macao by 30 percent, reaching 1.7 million kilowatts. So far, the power transmission volume to the region this year has reached nearly 4.8 billion kWh.

Completion of the three 220-kilovolt power transmission passages and the innovative deployment of the power supply path played a key role in improving power supply to Macao and increasing disaster prevention and resilience in the region.

It's worth noting that CSG has joined hands with Companhia de Electricidade de Macau and established special mechanisms to improve management and technical issues on power supply and emergency repair.

What's more, CSG reached agreements with CLP Holdings, Companhia de Electricidade de Macau and China General Nuclear Power Corporation on coordinated response to emergencies in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, aiming to improve emergency prevention and response capacity and providing stable power supply for high-quality economic and social development in the area.
