Genertec Achieves Fruitful Results along the Belt and Road

Over the past decade, China General Technology (Group) Holding Co., Ltd. (Genertec) has actively participated in the Belt and Road Initiative, completing a number of landmark demonstration projects that have boosted local economic development.

The Brazilian Comandante Ferraz Antarctic Station [Photo/sasac.gov.cn]

On January 15, 2020, the Brazilian Comandante Ferraz Antarctic Station, a project in which Genertec Xinxing, a subsidiary of Genertec, participated in its construction, was completed. This project marks the southernmost construction project along the "21st Century Maritime Silk Road".

The Payra Power Plant in Bangladesh [Photo/sasac.gov.cn]

In December 2020, the first phase of the Payra Power Plant in Bangladesh, consisting of two 660MW ultra-supercritical coal-fired power generating units, started commercial operations. The project was invested and constructed by Genertec CMC, and it is the power project with the largest installed capacity in Bangladesh to date.

The 100MW Kaposvar solar power plant in Kaposvar [Photo/sasac.gov.cn]

In Jan 2021, the 100MW Kaposvar solar power plant in Kaposvar, Hungary, was connected to the grid, becoming the largest photovoltaic power plant in Central and Eastern Europe. The project was invested and constructed by Genertec CMC.

The MTBE (Methyl Tertiary-Butyl Ether) project in Algeria [Photo/sasac.gov.cn]

In June 2022, the MTBE (Methyl Tertiary-Butyl Ether) project in Algeria, undertaken by the China National Technical Import and Export Corporation (Genertec CNTIC), a subsidiary of Genertec, started construction. Upon completion, the project is expected to produce approximately 200,000 tons of MTBE annually, meeting the demand of the Algerian national oil company for high-octane gasoline additive MTBE products.

The 84MW Ivovik wind power project in Bosnia and Herzegovina [Photo/sasac.gov.cn]

In September 2023, the 84MW Ivovik wind power project in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was invested and constructed by Genertec CNTIC, completed the installation of all 20 wind turbines. Upon its completion, this project will become the largest new energy generation project in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
