In its pursuit in eco-friendly development, Wuyi county, a mountainous region in East China's Zhejiang province, is striving to make good use of clean energy.
The 110kV Taoxi Photovoltaic Station located in Jinping village, Taoxi town, Wuyi county is a landmark project under this effort. The view of more than 60,000 solar panels arranged in order on the mountain has become typical scenery.
On Sunday, staff members from State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power conducted examinations at the photovoltaic power station, trying to eliminate the hidden equipment hazards.
They also provided guidance to customers on how to handle new energy business online, allowing customers to quickly learn the information on new energy policies and gain the benefits of photovoltaic power projects.
The power station, with an installed capacity of about 60 megawatts and an average annual power generation of about 62 million kilowatt-hours, can not only meet the electricity demand of local residents and industries but also supply electricity to the northern region of Wuyi.
According to calculations, it can save 19,000 metric tons of standard coal, reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 62,800 tons, and reduce particulate matter emissions by about 24.2 tons each year.
The power station has realized clean energy production on barren mountains, which is significant progress in improving land utilization and reducing environmental pollution.
In the future, the place will also develop agricultural production under the photovoltaic panels, combining energy supply with agricultural cultivation through some complementary measures, so as to support rural development and boost shared prosperity.
In recent years, State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power has promoted the construction of clean energy while ensuring power supply and advancing the clean energy development process. Currently, wind power and photovoltaic power generation capacity account for more than 25 percent of the total installed capacity in the province.
