From coal mining, transportation, and chemical processing to fully automated coal ports, from the operation mechanisms of thermal and wind power units to low-carbon technology innovations, and to a seawater desalination demonstration project, the Chinese and Indonesian young employees visited companies and factories of CHN Energy across the country that specialize in gas thermal power, new energy, port services, and electricity, learning about new paths for green and low-carbon energy transformation.
To promote cultural exchange and mutual learning for young people of two countries, traditional Mid-Autumn Festival activities and thematic roundtable discussions were held. The former featured interactive activities such as mooncake making and dancing, bridging traditional Chinese and Indonesian cultures and customs. The latter consisted of various forms of dialogue, poetry recitations, and slideshow presentations, with such themes as digitization, sustainability, innovation, international talent development, and cross-cultural integration. The discussions shared stories of high-quality cooperation in building the Belt and Road.
The Indonesian youth participants in this event were from three power plants under CHN Energy in Java, South Sulawesi, and Merak, Indonesia. The construction and operation of the three power plants are vivid examples of CHN Energy's response to the Belt and Road Initiative and its alignment with Indonesia's Global Maritime Fulcrum concept. The plants have provided new opportunities for local employment, livelihood improvement, and economic development.
