CGDG Boosts Green Development to Meet Dual Carbon Goals

Updated: October 08, 2023

China Green Development Investment Group(CGDG) launched a theme activity on its dual carbon goals and green future on Sept 22, on the occasion of the third anniversary of the announcement of China's dual carbon goals, showcasing its comprehensive achievements in green development in green and low-carbon practices, technological innovation, and collaborative prosperity.

Green and low-carbon practices enhance competitive edge

Over the past three years, since the announcement of China's dual carbon goals in 2020, CGDG has diligently implemented decisions made by the Communist Party of China Central Committee. With a focus on serving national major strategies, the company has actively promoted the transition towards green and low-carbon practices and achieved a series of significant results.

CGDG insists on technological leadership and has initiated the construction of the world's largest self-developed liquefied air energy storage demonstration project in Golmud, Qinghai Province. It has stepped up efforts in the green energy industry, successfully transforming the assets of listed companies into new energy assets, and commencing the construction of the first batch of large-scale new energy base projects of 13 million kilowatts in the northwest of China.

The company strives to build an entire low-carbon construction industry chain. It maintains 100 percent certification for green and healthy buildings, and takes the lead in construction projects that meet the dual carbon goals. With an international perspective, it is building a world-class happiness industry, featuring top-tier management systems and products such as holiday resorts, modern services, and contemporary commerce. The company also insists on ecological restoration, desertification control, and resource protection in its projects, aiming to become a trailblazing enterprise in biodiversity conservation.

Technological innovation drives high-quality development

Technological innovation serves as a pivotal engine in realizing the dual carbon goals. By focusing on original sources, CGDG is working on green technology innovation in the field of green energy and conducting critical technological breakthroughs and industrialization.

During the activity, Shanghai Zhonglv New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. and the Joint Research Center for Green Energy were inaugurated, with a commitment to photovoltaic and wind power synchronized voltage source grid integration technology application and equipment system solutions. The result was recognized as the first major piece of technological equipment by the National Energy Administration.

At the North-South Wind Farm in Ganghekou, Guazho, Gansu Province, CGDG's first wind turbine unit to apply synchronized voltage source grid integration technology was integrated into the grid and began trial operation. This development has substantially enhanced the weak grid operational capacity of the wind farm, and provided robust support to transient frequency and voltage in the power grid. In addition, the company has started construction on the Jinta multi-energy complementary project in Gansu province, with a total installed capacity of 700,000 kilowatts.

Collaboration and cooperation forging a green and flourishing future

CGDG is concentrating on its strategic layout and business development, and continues to deepen exchanges and collaborations with government agencies, research institutions, Chinese central state-owned enterprises, advanced industry organizations, as well as globally renowned corporations, to collectively forge a green and flourishing future.

At the event, the company signed cooperation agreements with various provinces and regions, including Liaoning, Anhui, Inner Mongolia, and Qinghai, in a bid to give full play to the advantages of industrial synergy to support high-quality economic and social development in these areas.

CGDG has established the first science and technology innovation park in Changping, Beijing, to promote industrial transformation and upgrading. In response to the call from the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC), the company has partnered with Anhui Huasun Energy Co., Ltd., Shandong Development and Investment Holding Group Co., Ltd., and Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. on industrial chain development by signing a cooperation agreement during the activity, agreeing to jointly construct a mutually beneficial industrial ecosystem.

Centered on the people's growing need for a beautiful ecological environment, CGDG provides premium green products and services. It has launched the cultural tourism resort brand "Huamei Resort", with its first product at Qiandao Lake making a splendid debut. The Qiandao Lake resort has undertaken the construction and service guarantee tasks for the Chun'an sub-venue of the Hangzhou Asian Games.

In addition, CGDG has also released its first ESG white paper and launched a corporate pledge to lead in dual carbon and green future initiatives during the activity.

The responsible person at CGDG said that the company will thoroughly study and implement Xi Jinping's thoughts on ecological progress and play its role in technological innovation, industrial chain development, and security support. The company aspires to lead the way in green, low-carbon, and high-quality development and strives to make greater contributions to helping achieve the duel carbon goals and advance the Chinese path to modernization.
