China-built Unit 1 of Indonesia's Boya Power Plant Put into Operation

Unit 1 of the Boya Power Plant in Indonesia, undertaken by China Energy Engineering Group Zhejiang Thermal Power Construction Co., Ltd., was put into operation recently. The project's completion will greatly alleviate the region's pressing electricity shortages.

The Boya Power Plant is located in Darmo Town, South Sumatra Province, on the island of Sumatra, Indonesia, approximately 220 kilometers from the provincial capital, Palembang. The area is one of the areas that suffer from a power shortage in the country. The project has seen the construction of two 660,000-kilowatt supercritical power generating units. China Energy Engineering Group Zhejiang Thermal Power Construction Co., Ltd. undertook the installation and construction of Unit 1's main structure, ash storage facilities, and steel structure, and China Energy Engineering Group Guangdong Power Engineering Co., Ltd. undertook Unit 2's main structure installation and construction.

Notably, the construction of this power plant has created over a thousand job opportunities for the local community and has stimulated economic growth in the area.
