Recently, the China-aided stadium project for the 2023 Pacific Games in the Solomon Islands, undertaken by the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation, a subsidiary of China Railway Construction Corporation Limited, was officially handed over. This project is the first large-scale comprehensive project to receive assistance from the Chinese government since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The project is located in Honiara, the capital of the Solomon Islands. The construction project features seven venues, including a main stadium that can accommodate tens of thousands of people, an aquatic center, a tennis center, a five-a-side hockey field, and a multifunctional hall. The construction area is about 26,000 square meters in total.

The project will serve the 17th Pacific Games to be held in November this year, where more than 5,000 athletes from 24 countries and regions will participate in the competition. It is an important achievement of cooperation and a vivid testimony of the friendship between the two countries.
