Each pile has a diameter of 10 meters, a length of 93 meters and weights 2,014 tons. The Moray West project is the first time that COSCO SHIPPING Specialized has undertaken the transportation of large wind turbine single piles with a semi-submersible vessel. Prior to this, the company completed the transportation of wind turbine jackets, complete sets of main engines and tower sections by semi-submersible vessels and heavy-lift vessels.

The team of COSCO SHIPPING Specialized adopted the side-rolling method for loading, and carefully analyzed external factors such as tides and the weather. In addition, the "Xianghekou" vessel precisely controlled its ballast and closely followed the port captain's instructions. It is being operated in strict accordance with the loading manual and provides key support for the smooth implementation of the customer's loading plan.

With the joint efforts of all parties, eight wind turbine single piles were safely and smoothly loaded to the ship, with each single pile taking no more than 18 minutes. The operation process was smooth and efficient, which was highly recognized by all parties involved.
