China's independently core equipment for marine seismic data exploration and acquisition was officially put into use in the waters located of the Bohai Sea on July 27.
It marks a milestone achievement in China's high-end deep-sea oil and gas exploration technology, and is of great significance for increasing efforts into offshore oil and gas exploration and further improving the independent and controllable offshore oil and gas exploration equipment system.

Seabed seismic exploration has been a rapidly emerging offshore oil and gas exploration technology in recent years, which can greatly improve the accuracy of oil and gas exploration and development.
The node-mode offshore seismic data exploration and acquisition equipment nicknamed "sea pulse" was independently developed and manufactured by China. It boasts the technologies of high-sensitivity signal detector and ultra-low noise acquisition circuit, which can significantly enhance the detection ability of weak signals. The equipment is capable of detecting seismic waves with an intensity of less than 1/150th of the noise of a mosquito 10,000 meters under the sea floor, and mapping out high-definition data of oil and gas reservoirs.
The "sea pulse" has the characteristics of small size, flexible deployment, adaptability to wide water depth range, and high ultra-low frequency performance. It can clearly detect oil and gas reservoirs buried thousands of meters deep.
Thousands of "sea pulse" are placed at designated positions on the seabed through professional equipment, receive and record seismic wave signals. After the operation is completed, they will be retrieved, and the data will downloaded and analyzed to help experts produce seismic section and take the pulse of the seabed.

The person in charge of the Geophysical Acquisition and Surveying Division of China Oilfield Services Limited, a subsidiary of China National Offshore Oil Corporation, said that the successful application of "sea pulse" will help obtain clearer and more accurate information about oil and gas reservoirs in deeper layers and complex geological structures, and will provide strong technical support for precise exploration of marine oil and gas resources in China's offshore areas.
The seabed seismic exploration equipment in China, which is the key technical equipment for collecting submarine oil reservoir information, has long depended on imports. Especially the seismic exploration equipment used more than 300 meters deep underwater has been subject to strict restrictions, which seriously constrains China's offshore oil and gas exploration and development.
The critical core equipment for offshore oil and gas exploration and development "sea pulse" can meet China's needs of seabed seismic exploration in major sea areas, and will further improve the exploration accuracy of offshore oil and gas reservoirs and dynamic monitoring of mature underwater oilfield reservoirs.
