The China Geo-Engineering Corporation (CGC) is affiliated to the China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group (CECEP), which has been involved in the Algerian engineering market since 2000, when it set up the North African branch. After 23 years of professional operation, the CGC has become a famous brand in the fields of water supply and drainage and the international contract project for civil and industrial construction in North Africa.
A professional brand for high-quality projects
The aviation navigation tower of Tamanrasset is a key project of the Algerian Ministry of Transport, as well as a major project of the Chinese construction unit and a milestone project of the CGC's North African branch in the Algerian aviation construction field. Since the project is located in the Sahara, extremely complex techniques and processes are required, seeing the project attract attention from the local government and residents since it broke ground.
To ensure the high-quality implementation of the project, the CGC's North African branch adopted world-class equipment and techniques, optimized its working processes and solved many problems, perfectly completing construction and winning high praise from relevant government departments.

As one of the first five airport control towers to strictly meet the international technical standard of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the quality and techniques of the project meet the international advanced level. It has not only become the dispatch center of the southern region of Air Algeria, but is also one of the most important traffic control hubs in Algeria.
Implementing projects to benefit local people
The CGC's North African branch has carried out more than 70 projects, including water supply projects, farmland irrigation, sewage disposal, urban flood control, and sea water desalination. The company is dedicated to providing employment opportunities, improving people's livelihoods and fueling local economic and social development. It has implemented the drinking water supply project, the rental and sale housing project and the public rental housing project, bringing improved welfare to the Algerian people.
The company's drinking water supply project met Tamanrasset's residents' need for water and greatly improved the drinking water supply for residents living in the desert region of southern Algeria.
In order to construct the rental and sale housing project with an overall construction area of 155,000 square meters, the CGC's North African branch enhanced the project's design, the management of material suppliers, adopted suitable equipment, and set up a security system to ensure the smooth implementation of the project, providing experience for the housing construction market of Algeria.
The implementation of these projects also provided numerous job opportunities, not only relieving the local employment pressure but also improving local people's living conditions, resulting in the CGC establishing a good reputation in the Algerian market.
Taking the responsibility in the construction of the Belt and Road
In order to carry out the Belt and Road Initiative, the CGC proactively takes the social responsibility and fully displays its image in overseas countries as a state-owned enterprise.
The CGC's North African branch periodically held comprehensive training in business and foreign affairs for administrative staff of the branch in order to improve their comprehensive quality.
In addition, the company continuously participated in social services in Algeria and held various public charity activities in an effort to improve local economy, education, health care and environment.
During the COVID-19 outbreak, the company donated money and epidemic prevention supplies to help Algerian people go through the tough time. In local festivals, the company granted holiday subsidy and life supplies to local people. The CGC has been taking its efforts to strengthen the China-Algeria friendship, writing a new chapter for a community with a shared future for China and Algeria.
