Asia's Largest Thrust Test Stand Upgrades Test Capacity

Updated: June 16, 2023

The No.2 station test stand of Asia's largest thrust test stand, operated by the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC), successfully completed its trial run on May 30, following the success of the No.1 station test stand on April 24.

The test stand is located in Tongchuan, Northwest China's Shaanxi Province. With a basic load capacity of 700 metric tons of thrust, the test stand is the largest for liquid-propellant rocket engine in Asia, and has been designed with two stations.

The successful trail run marks a significant breakthrough in China's infrastructure development of liquid rocket engines.

With the improvement of its testing capabilities, the test stand will provide guarantees for the implementation of China's major projects, such as the manned moon landing, heavy-lift launch vehicles, deep space exploration and space infrastructure construction, providing strong support for advancing China's development in aerospace.
