The world's first effective multi-source remote sensing exploratory data of mountain glaciers has been obtained in Northwest China's Qinghai Province based on the China-developed Xinzhou-60 aerial remote sensing and scientific experiment aircraft platform.
The experiment started on March 20 and is the first glacier exploratory experiment based on an aerial platform.

The Xinzhou-60 aircraft used in the research has carried out 11 flights.
As a national key scientific infrastructure, the aerial remote sensing system based on the Xinzhou-60 aircraft currently has the strongest comprehensive aerial remote sensing and scientific research platform capacity of its kind in the country. It can conduct 24/7 high-precision ground observation.
Since it was put into service in July 2021, the system has undertaken multiple scientific research missions and helped gain a large amount of valuable scientific data, showing its crucial social and economic benefit.
