A key project in Bangladesh, the wind farm was built by Power Construction Corporation of China.
It has a total installed capacity of 66 megawatts and is installed with 22 3-MW wind turbines. The project also includes a 132-kilovolt booster station, including a comprehensive building, a distribution building and some other ancillary facilities.
The project has an average annual power generation capacity of 144.92 million kilowatt-hours. It is equivalent to power produced by burning 44,500 metric tons of standard coal, eliminating emissions of 0.88 million tons of ashes and 12.73 tons, 66 tons and 61 tons of smoke, sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides, respectively.
Upon operation, the wind farm is expected to promote rapid development of wind power industry in Bangladesh and drive the coordinated development of the leisure agriculture and tourism industries in affected areas while supporting transformation and the upgrading needs of the country's power grid. It will boost high-quality and green development of its economy and society.
