Developed by Zhongfu Shenying Carbon Fiber Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China National Building Material Group Co., Ltd., the project is the world's highest-performance carbon fiber production base at the highest altitude and the largest single building of its kind in the world.
Located in the Xining (National) Economic and Technological Development Zone, the base has a total investment of 5 billion yuan ($706.45 million). The first phase of the project with 11,000-ton output began operation in September 2021. Construction of the 14,000-ton second phase started in October 2021.
