Jointly developed and designed by Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited (CSSC), and Japan-based MODEC, the tanker is the world's first ultra-large ocean engineering project designed to the latest regulations released by the Det Norske Veritas (DNV).
It meets special marine environment conditions in regions like Brazil, West Africa and Australia, can be used in oil and gas exploration in various waters in the world and has much lower operation costs than other tankers.
The tanker can be used for oil development, oil and gas separation, oily sewage treatment, power generation, heat supply, as well as storage and transportation of crude oil products. It is a comprehensive large-scale offshore oil production base with integrated personnel accommodation.
The tanker has been registered in the DNV.

With a total length of 364 meters, width of 64 meters and depth of 33 meters, the tanker has a design draft of 22.65 meters and a displacement of more than 460,000 metric tons. It has a deck area of 17,400 square meters, equaling that of three standard football pitches.
The tanker is capable of processing 220,000 barrels of crude oil per day, which is equivalent to the capacity of a 10-square-kilometer land-based oil and gas processing plant.
The upper module of the oil and gas processing part of the tanker weighs about 50,000 tons. The tanker has as many as 34,000 pipes weighing about 4,000 tons and a total of about 800,000 meters of cable. The painted area of the tanker is about 880,000 square meters.
Various kinds of long-term anti-corrosion materials such as titanium alloy pipe, heat-resistant alloy pipe, super bi-directional stainless-steel pipe and improved glass-steel fire-fighting pipes are installed on the tanker.
The tanker will be operated in the Santos Basin off Sao Paulo State, Brazil, and is currently the largest FPSO tanker in the Brazilian waters in terms of capacity and storage.
