The name of China's first domestically built large cruise ship, "Adora Magic City," was unveiled by China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited on May 19, marking the countdown to the ship's delivery and operation.
With a gross tonnage of 135,500, the cruise ship can accommodate up to 5,246 passengers with 2,125 guest rooms.
The name, "Adora Magic City", reflects the ship's "Shanghai design" and "Shanghai manufacturing" identities. It also highlights the pursuit of the product design, art and experience of China's first domestically built cruise ship, playing a significant role in the development of China's cruise industry and cruise culture construction, as well as promoting Shanghai's city image.
The cruise ship is expected to be officially delivered and start operation in 2024, at which time, the ship will launch international routes with Shanghai as its home port and neighboring countries as its destinations. Medium and long-length routes, such as the "Maritime Silk Road", will also open to the public.
