Barisal Power Plant, Bangladesh, Achieves Record-Breaking Monthly Electricity Output with Chinese Technology and Solutions

The monthly electricity output of the Barisal Power Plant, Bangladesh, which was invested, constructed and is operated by the Power Construction Corporation of China (POWERCHINA), exceeded 100 million kilowatt-hours for the first time recently, reaching 102.89 million kWh. It has also achieved continuous safe and stable operation, creating favorable conditions for the achievement of the annual power generation target.

The Barisal Power Plant has adopted Chinese technology, solutions and equipment. Since entering commercial operation, its cumulative electricity output has exceeded 250 million kWh, which has greatly alleviated the imbalance between power supply and demand and effectively promoted local economic and social development.

The power plant has fully leveraged its organizational and management advantages in carefully planning operations, actively conducting technical research and improving the economy and stability of its generating units. It has also strengthened communication with Bangladesh's power dispatch department, sought load dispatching, expanded power consumption, and increased the load rate of the units. In addition, it has expanded coal procurement channels and made every effort to ensure a stable fuel supply. With various measures in place, the plant has steadily increased its electricity output.
