Zhang extended a warm welcome to Sandrasegara. He said that in recent years Chinese central state-owned enterprises (SOEs) have strengthened their cooperation with Temasek and yielded fruitful results in collaboration on corporate governance, agricultural development and energy exploration.

Chinese central SOEs have been deeply studying and implementing the guiding principles of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and this year's annual two sessions, continuously deepening corporate reform, strengthening sci-tech innovation, and stepping up efforts to develop world-class enterprises, which creates broader space for cooperation with Temasek, Zhang said.

He added that Chinese central SOEs are ready to further intensify their cooperation with Temasek and other major multinational corporations with a more open mind. He expects the two sides to build on existing sound cooperation, continue to hold the SASAC-Temasek Directors Forum, beef up personnel training and exchanges over corporate governance, strengthen the building of boards of directors and fulfill corporate social responsibility, and explore international modern corporate governance models.

Zhang stressed that SASAC will fully support central SOEs to further enhance their pragmatic and win-win cooperation with Temasek on sci-tech innovation, talent cultivation and the expansion of international markets and achieve common high-quality development in accordance with market-oriented and rule of law principles.

Sandrasegara expressed thanks to SASAC for its long-term support for the cooperation between Chinese central SOEs and Temasek. Noting that he is confident in China's economic development and sci-tech innovation, he looks forward to further deepening Temasek's comprehensive cooperation with Chinese central SOEs, promoting the exchanges of experience and practices concerning business transformation and upgrading, advancing cooperation on life sciences, the green economy and future-oriented consumption, and achieving mutually beneficial cooperation.
