China Electronics Technology Group Corporation (CETC) has been making efforts to build a high-quality China-Belarus electromagnetic environmental effect laboratory under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.

Cooperative scientific research on key design technology, carbon nanomaterials and heat conduction and wave-absorbing materials related to electromagnetic protection has been carried out between CETC and institutes such as the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics, National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and Belarusian State University since 2012.
Several technological difficulties related to the electromagnetic environmental effect have been overcome, which greatly improves design capacity of the protective array antenna, systematic electromagnetic compatibility and anti-interference simulation, and strongly promotes the engineering application of relevant electromagnetic protection technology.
In August 2021, establishment of the China-Belarus electromagnetic environmental effect lab was approved to provide a platform to enhance technology research and development, scientific and technological talent supply and scientific research conditions in the field of electromagnetic environmental effects.
Members at the lab said that it focuses on electromagnetic environmental effects in infrastructure projects related to rail transportation, information and communication, and energy.
They added that the lab had worked hard to improve the basic theory of electromagnetic environmental effects, and had independently developed the first sound and light electromagnetic protection vehicle in China as well as thermal management materials for battery modules of new energy vehicles.
Focusing on strategic industries such as energy, transportation and new materials, the lab has attracted a number of experts and formed innovation teams in key areas such as carbon materials and metamaterials.
It will continue to concentrate on key technology research to support construction of China's electromagnetic environment effect discipline, improve the intelligent electromagnetic protection ability of the equipment, provide strategic science and technology support for its electromagnetic security system construction, and contribute to the high-quality co-construction of the Belt and Road.
