Located in Bukhara Province, the Bash and Dzhankeldy wind power project is expected to have the largest installed capacity of its kind that is still under construction in Central Asia.

The project mainly includes construction of two 500-megawatt wind power plants and associated power export transmission lines.

Taking full advantage of the rich wind resource in the region, the project is estimated to provide more than 3.5 billion kilowatt-hours of power annually, representing a reduction of 1.6 million metric tons of carbon dioxide per year.

Nearly 500 jobs for local people are expected to be created during the construction and operation of the project.

An important livelihood project supported by the government, the project will set an example of China-Saudi Arabia third-party market cooperation and be a model of "go global" for Chinese large-scale equipment.

Once operational, the project will benefit millions of people in Uzbekistan, greatly strengthen the local power supply capacity, improve local power structure and help transform the energy structure in the country.
