The Heyuan SUMEC Photovoltaic Power Plant has an installed capacity of 100MW, covering an area of 2,000 mu (about 1,333 hectares).

Its annual power generation of 120 million kWh and cumulative reduction of carbon emissions of about 80,000 tons per year is equivalent to planting four million trees.

12. Dongfang Electric Cooperation

The F-class 50 MW heavy-duty gas turbine independently developed by Dongfang Electric Cooperation is the first of its kind in China.

Compared to thermal power generating units of the same capacity, it can reduce carbon emissions by more than 500,000 tons a year, equivalent to planting about 27 million trees.

13. China General Technology (Group) Holding Co., Ltd.

The China Meheco Topfond Pharma's new plant in Zhumadian, Central China's Henan Province is a national "green factory" that has reduced ammonia nitrogen emissions by 90 percent and carbon dioxide emissions by 80.2 percent, equivalent to planting 2.2 million trees per year.

14. China Minmetals Corporation

The zinc project of the China Minmetals Hunan Nonferrous Copper, Lead and Zinc Industry Base has adopted large-scale equipment such as the world's largest 152 square meter roaster, a single series for 300,000-ton leaching and an OTC solution deep purification system.

Compared with industrial requirements, its CO2 emissions can be reduced by about 302,800 tons annually, equivalent to planting 825 hectares of trees per year.

15. China State Construction Engineering Corporation

The reorganization, integration and upgrading project of the Chengdu Metallurgical Experimental Plant has changed its steelmaking process from the traditional long flow to the short flow, which will reduce carbon emissions by 75 percent, a reduction of approximately 4 million tons per year, equivalent to planting 34 million trees.

16. China State Construction Engineering Corporation

The Jinggangshan Navigation and Power Hub Project on the Ganjiang River is a key project during the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-20) period of East China's Jiangxi Province and China's Ministry of Transport.

It was designed to have a multi-year average power generation capacity of 500 million kWh.

It saves more than 180,000 tons of standard coal per year compared to thermal power, and reduces smoke emissions by more than 30,000 tons, which is equivalent to planting about 26 million trees.

17. China Grain Reserves Group

The PV power generation project of the Qingdao direct granary is installed with over 30,000 square meters of photovoltaic panels on top of the granary, which can generate an average of 5 million kilowatt hours of electricity per year.

It saves 2,000 tons of coal per year and reduces CO2 emissions by 5,000 tons, equivalent to planting 1.125 hectares of forest and creating a green low-carbon granary.

18. State Development & Investment Corp., Ltd.

The Jinping Hydropower Station is a backbone power generation project in China's west-east power transmission program.

The project can provide about 43 billion kWh of clean electricity.

Compared with coal-fired power stations of the same size, it reduces standard coal consumption by 12.89 million tons per year and carbon dioxide emissions by 35.6 million tons, which is equivalent to planting 97,000 hectares of forest.

19. China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group

The domestic waste incineration power generation project of China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group is a comprehensive demonstration base for intensive disposal of organic solid waste in Feixi.

It can save 270,000 tons of standard coal, and reduce 650,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions and 2,210 tons of sulfur dioxide emissions, equivalent to planting about 1,780 hectares of forest per year.

20. China Coal Technology & Engineering Group

The Shanxi Taigu 4x116MW Natural Gas/Pulverized Coal Dual Fuel Boiler Project is the largest natural gas/coal pulverized dual-fuel heating station in China.

After full operation of the equipment, its annual carbon dioxide emissions will be reduced by 290,000 tons, equivalent to planting 24 million trees.
