The world's first 3000-ton OMB multi-nozzle opposed pulverized coal pressurized gasifier was completed and ready for shipment on Feb 20.
Developed by Dongfang Electric Corporation (DEC), the facility has a daily coal feeding capacity of 3,000 metric tons, which makes it the largest and most advanced device of its kind in the world and a breakthrough in key core technologies and equipment in the chemical industry.
The gasifier is able to transform solid coal difficult to process and remove useless components into gas easy to purify and use which will help realize clean and highly-efficient utilization of fossil energy, improve coal utilization and reduce carbon emissions.
Dongfang Boiler Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of DEC, Yankuang Lunan Chemicals Co., Ltd. and the East China University of Science and Technology, co-developers of the gasifier, own its proprietary intellectual property rights.
