In recent years, Zambia and its neighboring countries have encountered rare drought weather, and have been facing low-efficiency hydroelectric power generation.

As a kind of clean energy, solar power has become key to solving the power shortage in Africa.

Covering an area of 31.5 hectares, the project is an expansion of an existing PV power plant. The expansion includes a 33-megawatt generator unit and supporting facilities. It is expected to generate more than 56 million kilowatt-hours of power annually, which will greatly improve the local power supply capacity through efficient utilization of clean energy.
