China Railway Group Limited (CREC) has played a key role in building important bridges, sports centers, tunnels, stations and engineering equipment in the past few years. Let's have a look at these splendid projects.
Fenghuangling Grand Bridge
The Fenghuangling Grand Bridge, located in Liuzhou, South China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, is a cross-river wind and rain bridge with the longest span of its kind in the world.
With a 700-meter long and 18,600-metric-ton main girder, the bridge is now a landmark in the city.
Shanghai Civil Engineering Co., Ltd of CREC was responsible for construction of the project.
National Ski Jumping Center
The National Ski Jumping Center is the world's first ski jumping venue that has a large-scale cantilevered building on the top departure zone.
As it has an S-shaped curve which resembles a jade Ruyi scepter, the center is dubbed "Snow Ruyi".
China Railway Construction Engineering Group was responsible for construction of the project.
Yuelongmen Tunnel of Chengdu-Lanzhou Railway
Located on the border of Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture and Mianyang in Southwest China's Sichuan Province, the Yuelongmen Tunnel was one of the most-difficult-to-build sections of the Chengdu-Lanzhou Railway.
It was built through the seismic zone of the Longmen Mountains over a total engineering distance of more than 71 kilometers, the longest stretch of its kind in China.
The tunnel was designed by China Railway Eryuan Engineering Group Co., Ltd. and built by China Railway No. 5 Engineering Group Co., Ltd.
Caihongqiao Station of Merto Line 8 in Guangzhou
The Caihongqiao Station, also called the rainbow station, of Metro Line 8 in Guangzhou, South China's Guangdong Province, is the transfer station of three lines.
The four-storey and three-span station is an ultra-large-scale station and is decorated with rainbow lights and patterns throughout its interior.
China Railway No. 2 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. was responsible for construction of the station.
Haixin Bridge in Guangzhou
The Haixin Bridge in Guangzhou, Guangdong, is a pedestrian bridge with the longest span of its kind in the world.
It has a 198-meter main span and the widest section of the bridge surface is 15 meters. The bridge, which has become a landmark in Guangzhou, has a design based on local culture.
China Railway Guangzhou Engineering Group Co., Ltd. was responsible for construction of the bridge.
Beijing Fengtai Railway Station
The Beijing Fengtai Railway Station is the largest railway hub in Asia. It has a double-layer parking lot. China Railway Construction Engineering Group and China Railway Sixth Group Co., Ltd. participated in the construction of the railway station.
Pingtan Strait Road-Rail Bridge
The Pingtan Strait Road and Rail Bridge is China's first cross-sea road-rail dual-use bridge and the world's longest structure of its kind.
It was designed by China Railway Major Bridge Reconnaissance & Design Institute Co., Ltd. and built by China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group Co., Ltd.
Many new technologies, designs, engineering techniques and sets of equipment were developed for construction of the project.
Licheng Railway Station of Jinan-Laiwu high-speed railway
The Licheng Railway Station of the Jinan-Laiwu high-speed railway is the first bridge-style high-speed railway station in East China's Shandong Province.
It has an arch structure and arc glass and metal walls.
China Railway No. 10 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. was responsible for construction of the project.
Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge
With a total length of about 55 kilometers, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge is the world's longest cross-sea bridge.
It was a large-scale cross-sea traffic project in South China's Guangdong Province, Hong Kong and Macao.
The Qingzhou Channel Bridge is the longest navigable span with the highest main tower of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge.
The upper beams of the cable-supported towers are designed in the shape of the Chinese knot, symbolizing reunion and getting together.
CREC participated in design and construction of the project.
Cable-stayed bridge of Chengdu South Railway Station
The cable-stayed bridge of Chengdu South Railway Station in Southwest China's Sichuan Province is the first of its kind in the west Sichuan plain area and a landmark in Chengdu.
The bridge stretches over 14 railways. It has a 78.3-meter high main tower with a sunbird badge in the middle of its top, symbolizing the ancient culture of Jinsha.
China Railway No. 8 Engineering Group Co., Ltd was responsible for construction of the bridge.
Dayun hub of Metro Line 14 in Shenzhen
The Dayun hub of Metro Line 14 in Shenzhen, Guangdong, plays a key role in welcoming visitors to the Longgang Dayun District. The hub covers an area of about 173,200 square meters, equaling that of 17 standard railway stations.
The project was invested by China Railway South Investment Group Co., Ltd. and constructed by China Railway No. 5 Engineering Group Co., Ltd.
CREC 1179 pipe jacking machine
CREC 1179 is the world's largest cross-section combined-type rectangular shield pipe jacking machine.
It is 11.295 meters wide and 13.55 meters high and was specially developed for construction of the Shasan Station of Metro Line 12 in Shenzhen.
It is used in digging of shallow overburden, large-cross-section and none-gap regions and performs well in security and reliability.
China Railway Hi-Tech Industry Co., Ltd. developed the project.
