At the end of 2022, children at the China-Laos friendship schools in Vangleck and Hatnam villages of Bokeo Province, had a lot of "happy things".
On Dec 28, 2022, the "Love Bathhouse" and the "Love Kitchen" of the China-Laos Friendship School were put into operation. The delivery ceremony was held at the China-Laos Friendship School in Hatnam Village. Some leaders of Bokeo participated in the inauguration and delivery ceremony. The donation is one of China Southern Power Grid (CSG)'s livelihood projects themed "Small but beautiful", and one of the "Dok Champa" charity activities of the company.

In 2020, China Southern Power Grid International Co., Ltd. under CSG built China-Laos friendship schools in Vangleck and Hatnam villages near the Nam Tha 1 hydropower station project invested by the company. In 2022, the company invested $30,000 in building supporting facilities for the schools, which included construction of a kitchen and a bathhouse, a water well and a solar energy-based water supply system. The facilities solved practical problems such as cooking and bathing for about 200 teachers and students, which improved living conditions at the school.

Students at the China-Laos friendship schools had to bathe in the river at the foot of the mountain and use open fires for cooking in the old days. "It's hard to imagine their lives if you hadn't visited the villages. It is only after we came that we learned that we should do more for the children," said Yu Yi, director of the comprehensive department of Nam Tha 1 Power Company in Laos.
Construction of the "Love Bathhouse" and "Love Kitchen" is just a relatively small investment, but it can bring the children a real sense of happiness. From then on, the children who only go home once a week can shower and bathe indoors, and cook in a safe and clean kitchen.
