Upon operation, travel time between Kunming South Railway Station and Honghe Station will be lessened to 69 minutes and it will take passengers only half an hour to travel between Mile, Kaiyuan and Mengzi.
Its operation will make it much easier for local people to travel to other regions and boost development of tourism and other industries.
The railway is also expected to help speed up development, rural vitalization and high-level opening-up in affected areas.
Many enterprises such as China Railway Group Limited have contributed to the project.
