Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd. (COMAC) announced that the ARJ21, the first China-developed regional passenger jet, was delivered to its first overseas buyer, Indonesia-based TransNusa Airlines, on Dec 18, marking that China's jet airliner industry has entered the overseas market.
The ARJ21-700 aircraft recently delivered has 95 economy class seats. Its interior decoration, seats and exterior painting were specially designed for the customer. For example, the patterns on the body of the aircraft are based on the iconic colors of the airline's logo - blue, yellow and green - symbolizing the sky, humans, and the Earth.
The ARJ21 is a medium-and-short range turbofan regional jet with a flying range of 2,225 to 3,700 kilometers. It is mainly used in flights between central cities and their surrounding areas and has outstanding high-temperature performance and crosswind resistance capacity. It's worth noting that the aircraft is well-suited for night operations.
So far, nearly 100 ARJ21 planes have been delivered, and fly more than 300 domestic routes between over 100 cities. So far, they have transferred more than 5.6 million passengers.
In terms of the newly-delivered ARJ21 aircraft, COMAC will provide TransNusa Airlines with lifecycle service and operational support to guarantee safe and smooth operations.
