Located on the outskirts of Algiers, capital of Algeria, Baraki Stadium is the first standard national stadium in Algeria for FIFA events, including the World Cup. It covers an area of about 410,000 square meters and a total construction area of about 136,000 square meters. It can accommodate a maximum of 40,784 people.
The steel structure canopy of the stadium is composed of four pipe trusses. The main truss has a span of 72 meters from east to west and 200 meters from north to south. It has been built with the force system of a steel structure and concrete tower column, which is relatively rare.
So far, there are 102 stadiums worldwide that meet the standards of FIFA events, including the Baraki Stadium. In January 2023, the Baraki Stadium will be the venue of the African Nations Championship, and will open to the public to host various events and performances.
