The China International Import Expo has become a stage for Chinese enterprises to build partnerships with global companies for high quality development, according to senior executives of Chinese state-owned enterprises.

China Energy Investment Corp (China Energy) signed $2.5 billion (17.9 million) worth of procurement agreements on Saturday with 40 enterprises from 18 nations and regions including Mongolia, Russia, Germany, and the US.

The value of deals reached this year by China Energy and its partners surged 38 percent year-on-year, which covered coal, high-end equipment, and critical materials.

"In the past five years, China Energy has seen its procurement value keep increasing and the products are covering diversified categories, which has fully reflected the vitality of Chinese economy and China Energy's high quality development," said Wang Shumin, executive vice-president of China Energy.

Adding that a total of $7.2 billion worth of procurement was made in the past five years at the CIIEs.

Likewise, China Eastern Air Holding Co Ltd is about to sign 15 contracts with companies from eight countries and regions during the fifth China International Import Expo (CIIE), according to the Shanghai-based carrier.

China Eastern is projected to reach more than $1.6 billion worth of procurement agreements in total during this year's CIIE, outnumbering that of last year.

Thanks to the platform offered by CIIE, China Eastern was capable of introducing the latest technologies in aviation maintenance, so as to further enhance its fleet management, operation efficiency and high quality operation, said China Eastern.
